What Is the Standard Hot Tub Base?

Our standard base consists of the spa frame wrapped with a sheet of high-density polyethylene, commonly known as HDPE.

This durable material creates a moisture-resistant barrier between the underside of the hot tub and its installation surface. It helps protect the spa’s frame and internal components from ground moisture, dirt, and debris.

What Is the Upgraded Base?

The upgraded base is a thicker, hollow component made from blow-molded resin. During manufacturing, its hollow interior is injected with closed-cell foam insulation.

This design adds another layer of protection and insulation beneath the hot tub.

What Are the Benefits of the Base Upgrade?

The closed-cell foam helps reduce heat transfer through the bottom of the spa. Improved heat retention may reduce the amount of energy required to maintain the selected water temperature.

Actual energy use and savings will depend on several factors, including climate, temperature settings, spa usage, cover condition, and installation location.

Greater Underside Protection

The thicker resin construction provides a durable barrier beneath the spa. It helps shield the hot tub’s underside from moisture, dirt, pests, and minor impacts during normal use.
